Project: Sunny Shrink-Plastic Keyring ☀️🔑

What Bella used
Shrink-plastic sheet • Permanent markers or coloured pencils • Hole punch • Keyring • Oven • Baking paper
How she made it

Draw your design BIG (it’ll shrink to about ⅓).

Cut out and punch a hole where the ring will go.

Bake on baking paper at 160°C for 2–3 mins until it curls, then flattens.

Let it cool under a book, add the ring, done!

Opening 1 December — Leicester’s First Creative Café
Tea. Cake. Make. Feel at home.
From 1 December we’re opening the doors to The Makerie — a cosy little place to slow down, sip something nice and make something lovely. Think warm mugs, soft lighting, a friendly hello at the door and a table ready with all the bits you need. No pressure, no perfection — just creating for the joy of it.
What you’ll find

Freestyle Make Bar: drop in, pick a project, we’ll set you up with tools + materials and gentle help if you want it.

Bookable classes & one-off makes: simple, seasonal and confidence-boosting.

Private lessons & parties: 1:1 support, birthdays and small groups.

Tea/coffee & cake: because crafting is better with crumbs and chats.
Who it’s for
Everyone. Little makers, teens, grown-ups and nannas. Come solo, bring a friend, or make it a family thing. If you’re nervous, we’ll meet you where you’re at — kind encouragement, step by step.

About The Makerie
Why we started
The Makerie is brand new (September 2025) and very close to my heart. I’m a mum of two wonderfully different little humans, and this whole thing was inspired by my daughter Bella (9).
Bella is like me: happiest with gluey fingers, painty sleeves and a project on the go. After another summer of trying all the usual clubs—dance, gymnastics, sporty camps—she came home more frustrated than fulfilled. We went looking for a crafts club she could actually belong to… not a one-off workshop, but a cosy, regular place for kids and grown-ups to make things side by side.
We couldn’t find it. So we’re building it.
The Makerie is a friendly, creative club (and soon a café) where anyone can drop in, slow down and make something lovely—no pressure, no perfection. Just the joy of making.
