Day 1 of Building The Makerie (and I’m not sure I’m ready…)

Today is officially day one of properly putting myself out there with The Makerie… and if I’m being honest, I don’t feel ready at all.
My website is live (which still feels surreal), but there’s so much I haven’t done yet. I haven’t tested everything properly, I don’t have all my packaging sorted, and I’m still figuring things out as I go.
But I also know that if I keep waiting until everything is perfect, I’ll never actually start.
So here I am — starting anyway.
What The Makerie is all about -
The Makerie is where I create personalised gifts, keepsakes and prints — things that actually mean something.
Whether it’s:
a cushion with your dog on it
a flower keepsake
a personalised gift for someone special
Everything I make is designed to feel personal, not just something you grab off a shelf.
What I’m doing right now
At the moment, I’m:
creating products
filming content for TikTok
setting up my workspace
slowly adding new items to my website
It’s a mix of exciting and slightly chaotic… but I think that’s part of it.
The honest bit
I think the hardest part is just believing people will actually buy from me.
I can make things. I enjoy making things. But putting it out there and saying “this is worth buying” feels like a different level.
Still… I’m doing it anyway.
What’s next
I’m going to keep building, keep posting, and keep sharing the process as I go.
If you’re following along — thank you. Honestly.
And if you’re here because you’re thinking about starting something yourself… this is your sign to just start, even if it’s messy.
